Important Information About Our Event Packages

The pricing shown online is just the most common packages couples inquire about.  Use of Dogwood Hill may cost you less, for example, if you are hiring a professional DJ instead of using our sound system, etc…  Dogwood Hill’s total bill could also cost more if you added optional services such as or floral services, invitations, etc…

We have a helpful Professionals Booklet available to help you choose your wedding professionals (caterers, photography and more). And, we provide setup help to insure that the space is clean and ready for your day so that you can relax and enjoy!  Learn more about our services and what’s included by clicking on any package below.

The staff at Dogwood Hill is very helpful throughout your planning process and on your wedding day.  We clean the space, chairs and tables, and hang the drapery decorating up for you before you arrive.  We’ll do whatever we can to make your wedding day run smoothly AND lessen the clean up for you.  Our rates are subject to change without advance notice.  In the event of a price change, contracts with paid deposits will be honored at the rates they were originally contracted for.

Music Services Included

Music & Lighting Services

Our Reception Barn and Ceremony Space is wired with an outdoor surround system.  It is controlled by an RCA music tablet, DJ quality amplifier and control board.  We installed this system knowing that our location (in the country at the bottom of a mountain) makes live streaming audio very difficult here.  Most newer DJs are live streaming their music, which does not work here!  Our music services represent $250 of our venue pricing.  The average cost of hiring a DJ is $450-$1000.

The venue is lit by romantic twinkle lighting and vintage sconce fixtures within.  New for 2018, we have added DJ up lighting in the Reception area and the new greenhouse dance floor space.  This helps provide a dance party atmosphere after the meal.

Wedding Planning Help

In the months leading up to your wedding we will help you with all kinds of stuff, if you’d like.  We provide a booklet of preferred professionals to help you choose the services you’ll need for your wedding.  And, we’ll help you get all your details together before your event.  We’ll help you plan your ceremony and review it at a rehearsal.

Rehearsal, Ceremony & Reception

A 1-hour rehearsal the week of the wedding is included with these packages. (A rehearsal picnic on the property does cost extra and needs to be scheduled not less than 3 weeks in advance).

A full day is dedicated to your wedding.  In the early morning hours our staff cleans and sets up the space, hanging the drapery decor and laying down the table covers for you.  If you provide your centerpieces ahead of time, we’ll set them out for you.  Then, we’re here to direct your baker, caterer and/or DJ when they arrive to setup.

Most brides arrive at Dogwood Hill about 2 hours before their ceremony.  At this time all of our cleaning, landscaping and drapery decor is usually complete.  All you have to do now is add your personal finishing touch, get ready and put your beautiful wedding dress on.

You’ll have a beautiful outdoor ceremony in our atrium followed by a reception.

Wedding Day Staff

Depending upon the size of your wedding, we provide 2 or more staff throughout your event.  These staff make sure that everything the venue is setup and are responsible things running as smoothly as possible.  Their tasks include hanging our drapery decorating, cleaning chairs and tables, laying out our table clothes so the space is clean and ready for your special occasion.  Then, we over see the music, restock the bathrooms and empty the garbage for you throughout the evening.

** We do monitor the crowd and will politely step in if there is a risk of anyone getting hurt or our property / grounds being damaged.

Suites, Ceremony & Reception Spaces

Ladies get ready in your own Bridal Suite. The gentlemen have a changing space and a “man cave” space in the reception barn.  Enjoy our beautiful ceremony garden.  Followed by a country style celebration in our reception barn.

Drapery Decorating

Throughout the photos on our website you will see romantic white drapery decorating with color bows and accents.  We provide this decor and include it with most of our wedding packages.   We have 20 accent colors in stock to choose from.  The drapery is cleaned and hung by our staff.  You will have a lot less stress the morning of your wedding because all the decorating we provide we also setup for you.

Photo Booth & Lawn Games

We do provide a DIY Photo Booth back drop area and hats/props with every wedding.  We do not include an instant camera or film but most groups use their camera phones.  An instant film camera with film is available separately.

We also provide horse shoes, corn hole, hop scotch, lawn tic-tac-toe and jumbo jenga for family fun.

Alcohol Insurance

From experience, we know that there will be someone with an alcoholic beverage at just about every wedding.  So, we purchase and include a separate alcohol liability policy for each wedding held here.  This policy protects YOU (the bride and groom) and DOGWOOD HILL.  In the event of an alcohol related accident this insurance protects you and your venue from being sued by any victim.  It stands in the gap and covers damages and/or medical for the injured.

Seating, Tables & Table Covers

In the ceremony space we have a blend of concrete garden benches and country pine benches.  80% of our outdoor ceremony seating is covered and offers shade for the comfort of your guests.  We keep seating for up to 110 on hand for the ceremony.

We have restaurant tables and seating (not folding) for up 110 guests.  We keep in stock table covers, currently we have white, light gray, lilac, coral brocade and blue damask on hand.  We also have optional Quaker lace overlays in stock.
